cos’è che nutre
questa marea inaspettata
di un blu dorato che palpita
i polmoni si comprimono
il suo caldo scintillante blu
mi riempie la gola
per anni è stata un’onda
una zampata umida
che mi metteva al tappeto
un cagnolino anziano
dei passeri in una pozzanghera, controluce
un fiore cliché nella crepa del muro
un sorriso sulla metro
un passaggio ben scritto
bambini in tre sul motorino
la marea saliva in un istante
la sua esagerata mano sul collo
avvolgeva, scintillante oro, tutto
piangevo perché non capivo
com’è possibile che non vediamo
che già abbiamo tutto.
cogli anni questa ondata
si è ampliata e ammorbidita
ho finalmente potuto intravedere
la sua vera forma
è il cielo della mia terra
di quel suo caldo immenso blu
quel suo oro liquido
un oceano che avvolge ogni cosa
me, te, i pini, i piccioni, gli oleandri
un oceano che crea e disfa
adesso, quando l’onda si gonfia
riesco quasi a sentire
quello che mormora insieme alle cicale
un brusio, il respiro della terra
come le onde nei ciottoli in Portogallo
un flusso eterno e perfetto
che parla e racconta
e simultaneamente tesse e ricama
una trama che ci contiene tutti
i piedi nella sabbia
un passo alla volta
lascio che mi avvolga le caviglie
la speranza di un tempo
è diventata certezza
che presto sarò per sempre sua.

what makes this blue
shiny and palpitating
rise swell engulf me
lungs compressed
its hot golden blues
fill my throat
it was humid, incomprehensible
a blow which for years
flipped me over
an old little dog
sparrows bathing in a puddle
a cliché flower in a crack
a smile in the subway
a well-written paragraph
three kids on a scooter
in an instant – the tide
its powerful hand on my neck
engulfing everything with its light
i cried because i did not
understand: how don’t we see
that we already have everything.
years passed and its shape shifted
it grew and spread and softened
i can finally make out
its real shape
the sky of my land
its warm blue so alive
its liquid gold so sweet
an ocean over everything
me, you, the pigeons, the pines
it creates and unravels
today, when the wave swells
i can almost get
what it sings with the cicadas
a murmur, the breathing of the earth
like the pebbles in Portugal
eternal and perfect flux
it talks and tells
while weaving and spinning
a pattern which contains us all
my feet on the sand
one tiny step at a time
i let it curl around my ankles
the old wish
now a certainty
– soon i’ll be forever yours.
